Dr. Stephen A. Berger graduated from New York Medical College in 1967 and he
completed his Internal Medicine training there. Following service in the
U.S. Navy, he completed fellowships in Infectious Diseases at Montefiore
Hospital-Einstein in New York, The New York V.A. Hospital and Tufts New
England Medical Center. He subsequently served as a Clinical Microbiology
Fellow at Montefiore Hospital, New York; and in MPH-Operational Methods Fellow
for the World Health Organization in Brussels, Belgium. He is currently
Director of Clinical Microbiology and Geographic Medicine at the Tel Aviv
Medical Center. Dr Berger has published 8 books and 190 journal articles in
the field of Infectious Diseases, and is co-founder and Scientific Advisor for
