of Infectious Diseases at the University of Queensland and Mater
Hospitals, South Brisbane, Australia. He did his undergraduate
training and residencies in Dublin, Ireland and his Infectious Diseases
training in the UK, USA and United Arab Emirates. He is past president,
vice president and treasurer of the Australasian Society for Infectious
Diseases. His research interests include the relationship between
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and immunity, particularly in cystic fibrosis,
multiresistant organisms and viral infections in Australasia. He has
published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, written 10 book chapters and spoken at numerous national and
international meetings. He is coauthor of a textbook on the clinical approach to Infectious Diseases.
