Marcus J. Zervos, M.D. is currently Division Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases, and Medical Director of Infection Control at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI. He is also Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Zervos received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship and residency and chief medical residency at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals. He was a Fellow in Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, followed by Associate Hospital Epidemiologist at the Yale New Haven Hospital and Assistant Professor in the Departments of Laboratory Medicine and Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. From 1988 to 2005 he served as infectious diseases consultant at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, where he was also Medical Director of the Microbiology Laboratory from 1994 to 2005 and Co Medical Director of the Molecular Pathology Laboratory from 2004 to 2005 in the Department of Clinical Pathology.

Dr. Zervos has been the recipient of several million dollars in grant awards, and has been Principal Investigator on over 200 government and industry funded studies examining multidrug resistant pathogens. From 1999 to 2004 Dr Zervos served as Director of Research at Beaumont Hospital, where he had oversight for over 350 investigators and employees and 30 million dollars in grant funds. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Zervos is on several editorial boards, editor of major journals and a member and fellow of several professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He has contributed over 228 published abstracts at national and international scientific meetings and has published over 160 articles in peer reviewed journals including the Annals of Internal Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy and The American Journal of Medicine. He has co authored several books and contributed numerous book chapters dealing with infectious diseases.
