Dr.
Alós
graduated from the
University Complutense de Madrid Pharmacy School
in 1980.
He
performed his Residency in Clinical Microbiology at the Hospital Ramón y Cajal
of Madrid
from
1982
to 1985.
He
was
awarded
a
doctorate
degree
in Microbiology
in 1994
from the University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid.
From June to December 1992, he did
his
post-doctoral training at the Unité des Agents Antibactériennes, Institut
Pasteur, Paris, France, with Patrice Courvalin and Thierry Lambert.
He has trained more than 15 rounds of residents in Clinical Microbiology.
He currently serves as
Editor of Enfermedades Infecciosas y Microbiología Clínica,
the
official publication of the Spanish Society for Microbiology and Infectious
Diseases.
Dr. Alós’ research interests include antibiotic resistant bacterial infections,
antibiotic activity and antibiotic resistance. He has published more than 100
peer review publications, and more than 10 book chapters. He has accepted over
50 invited lectureships.
